Note: Clicking the above banner link takes you off this site (on a new browser page) Take a look at the BrunleaBlog for more on this great new service About UsBrunleaBooks commenced trading on the Internet in August 2006, starting with eBay auctions, developing an eBay store for fixed price sales, building a catalogue on AbeBooks, Biblio and Biblion listing services, and subsquently developing our own web site. The business is built upon more than 40 years of serious book collecting in a number of fields and experience of buying and selling as part of managing a collection of many thousands of books. Trading in a major way grew initially out of the need to slim down significantly the number of volumes on our own bookshelves. From this small start we rapidly diversified into buying for resale. In our first year we shipped books to many parts of the world, and maintained a 100% Positive feedback rating on eBay. More recently we have commenced building a display site of new books to be supplied via affiliate arrangements, especially with Amazon. The launch of our new "twin sites" approach on the web was an exiting new development for 2007, and we look forward to growing our services in the months to come. We will welcome suggestions from our customers as to how we might improve still further. In addition to BrunleaBooks we are also developing a range of associated sites. Watch out for reference to these on the BrunleaBlog. People often ask about our name. Why "BrunleaBooks"? The explanation lies in the old name of the town in which we both grew up - Burnley, in East Lancashire in the NorthWest of England. We both attended Todmorden Road school (recently demolished); Hilda went on to the girls' High School while David was at Burnley Grammar School for Boys (which also sadly is no more, having become yet another victim of the recent decades of destructive educational experimentalism, dumped as a mere relic of history after more than four centuries of excellent service to the youth of the area). Brunlea means "the meadow of the Brun", the river which runs through the centre of the town before flowing into the Calder and eventually, some miles further downstream, into the Ribble.
BrunleaBooks is a trading name of David Murray, working with his wife Hilda
