Still growing

Since our major site overhaul we have continued to add to the site little by little, and also to our family of associated sites. Here at BrunleaBooks we have a substantial gardening books section. To this we have now added a separate new specialist gardening site, Gardening-Notes.com, including not only a range of articles on garden topics but also a garden shop catering for UK and European customers plus links to our North American affiliated garden supplier.

Another important new development is our relationship with Encyclopaedia Britannica (see above right). At a very affordable cost you can have on-line access to the wealth of Britannica's information. If you have students in your family you need this. Wikipaedia may give a start with research for a school essay, but its quality depends on who has uploaded the information on any particular subject. Britannica, however, is written by leading international scholars in each field of learning, is rigorously edited, and has a range and quality of coverage which is incomparable worldwide.

• the-Churchill-file, containing information on, and books by and about, Sir Winston Churchill. [Note: At present this service is still in a reduced format while the site is being rebuilt, but the front page is open with a variety of high-grade offerings].
• Africa has been on the minds of many people in recent years, not least because of its multiple challenges of poverty, disease, conflict and corruption. Our Africa pages cover history, current affairs, travel. China also has its own page.
• Many of our site visitors are working hard to build their own businesses on the internet. See the BrunleaBlog for an introduction to our new business service mini-site. It's in its early stages, but if you have your own commercial web site, keep watching The Brunlea-Web.

Secondhand Books

Click here for BrunleaBooks2 which handles the sale of books from stock that we physically hold on our own shelves, and that you buy direct from us. Most of these books are classified as "Used", although you often have to look carefully to detect actual signs of use. We also hold completely new copies of selected titles, listed on the same database and always clearly described as "New". Currently there are just a few hundred books on-line, but work proceeds to upload more of the stock, with thousands more to come. Please do check back periodically, using the BrunleaBooks2 category list and catalogue search facility to look for subjects, titles and authors which especially interest you.

Special Features

We have started our series of Special Features. The first of these looks at the life and work of William Wilberforce, the anti-slavery campaigner, as we celebrate the 200th anniversary of the UK Parliament's banning of the slave trade, and the second links to our new associated site: the-Churchill-file.

Our Newsletter

We hope at some stage to introduce a periodic BrunleaBooks Newsletter. In these newletters we will tell you of new developments on the site. including special deals for newsletter subscribers, as we further build our lists of both NEW and USED titles in our areas of emphasis. Subjects you can expect to read about in the future include books on travel and tourism in the UK, and especially the development of our section on outstanding gardens. Meanwhile, do read the BrunleaBlog.
