Home > The Bible > Good News Bible The Good News BibleThe Good News Bible is an exceptionally easy-to-read Bible translation and according to Collins, its publisher, is the UK's most popular - probably, we suspect, because its style of writing is eminently suited to young people without in any way becoming flippant. It was originally published in the 1960s as 'Good News for Modern Man', and was immediately popular as it combines readability by all ages with faithfulness to the best Greek and Hebrew sources. It is widely respected by biblical scholars for its accuracy and reliability. The Sunrise edition is very popular among school children but is also suitable for use in churches, especially those where the traditional black Bible bindings are viewed as somewhat dull. It is listed here in both hard and soft cover editions. Thirdly, on this row, the New Life edition (also hardback) is especially suitable for teenagers, and includes "engaging articles, essays and notes [which] offer clear and understandable information about the Bible and how to start reading it." Fourthly, there is a hardback edition.
